Let’s be honest: how many political flyers did you throw straight into the recycling bin this week? Or worse, how many did you see blowing down our streets as litter?

Traditional municipal campaigns flood our neighborhoods with thousands of glossy, plastic-coated paper flyers. They tell you they care about the environment, but their campaign trail leaves behind a massive mountain of waste.

I’m running for council to build a true Zero-Waste City—and I believe a campaign should practice what it preaches.

That’s why I am handing out bananas instead of flyers.

The Political Idea Behind the Fruit:

• Zero Waste, Period: This banana comes in its own 100% biodegradable packaging. When you are done eating it, the peel goes right into the compost, returning nutrients to the earth instead of piling up in our local landfills.

• Investing in Local Food, Not Big Print: Every dollar this campaign spends goes toward local grocers and food distributors—keeping campaign funds right here in our community's circular economy.

If we want a city hall that thinks outside the box, solves our waste management crisis, and respects our public spaces, we have to change how we run for office.
